Dallas Cowboys: Early Free Agency Review and Mock Draft
By Brady Lunt
Josh McCown, QB
The Cowboys met with the former Browns’ quarterback last week, and reports suggest there is mutual interest. With the all but obvious release of Tony Romo lingering, finding a veteran backup to Dak Prescott is important. McCown provides a strong leadership presence and will continue to aid in Prescott’s development while coming relatively inexpensive.
Darren McFadden, RB
While no news has surfaced regarding McFadden’s future, early reports suggested a mutual interest between him and the Cowboys. McFadden is a solid veteran running back who is only a year removed from a 1,000+ yard season and should provide a steady presence behind Ezekiel Elliott.
Lardarius Webb, DB
The Baltimore Ravens recently released Webb, and it was perfect timing for a Cowboys franchise that just lost two of their top three safeties. While Webb is 31, his transition to safety has seemed to spark new life into his career. He is a veteran presence that should provide stability next to Byron Jones.
