5th Round (via CLE)

145. player. 57. Adding Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper provide major depth benefits for the Bears defense, but the team has to take every opportunity they can to find talent at that position. Marquez White was tremendous in 2015, showcasing a mixture of size and fluid athleticism made for a press corner. He struggled in 2016, but so did the entire defense. He’s got more than enough traits worth developing. The perfect project for someone like Fangio.. CB. Florida State. Marquez White

5th Round

TCU. Aviante Collins . 147. player. 57. It’s never a bad idea to invest in the offensive line. The Bears may have their starters for 2017 set, but depth is often vital at such key positions. Aviante Collins quietly gave his stock a boost with a tremendous combine. His problems primarily lay with strength and technique. Two things that can be improved with more work. This is the ideal sort of project player who can emerge into a quality starter for Chicago at a key position.. OT

7th Round

Idaho. Austin Rehkow . 221. player. 57. Hey, punters are people too! In truth the Bears haven’t had a good punter since Brad Maynard left. Since then it’s been a parade of average. Pat O’Donnell has flashed talent a number of times but the guy just can’t seem to keep it consistent. Chicago wants to be a defensively-driven team. A great way to help that is field position. Austin Rehkow not only demonstrated leg power and hang time on his punts, but excellent touch as well. Lots of fair catches and few big returns.. P
