Clemson. Carlos Watkins . 111. player. 57. Depth along the defensive line is always at a premium in the NFL, regardless of scheme. Though the Bears have some quality players up front like Akiem Hicks and Eddie Goldman, their options behind them are scarce and unproven. Jonathan Bullard still has plenty of promise but his rookie year was forgettable. That’s why drafted Carlos Watkins makes sense. He was an active, athletic and productive lineman for national champion Clemson. Somebody who can play multiple positions and create pressure into the backfield.. DL

player. 57. Prior to last season it looked like Eddie Jackson was destined for the first round. He switched to safety from cornerback and produced big plays almost right away. He showed an innate ability to cut off passing lanes for interceptions using his range and instinct. He even picked off Deshaun Watson in the national championship game. Then the next year he broke his leg and is all but forgotten. This is the kind of rangy free safety the Bears desperately need.. S. Alabama. Eddie Jackson . 117
