The New England Patriots struck a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Saints. Here’s the updated 2017 NFL Draft order after all the offseason festivities…

The New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints came together for what is so far the biggest trade of the 2017 offseason, involving star receiver Brandin Cooks and a 2017 first round pick, among other picks. The 2017 NFL Draft order has been shaken up in recent days, but nothing too complicated.

The Patriots are now out of the first round, and the Saints now join the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans as teams with multiple first round selections. The Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, and Patriots are all without a first round pick in this year’s draft.

Let’s take a look at the updated order…

With the blockbuster trade made on Friday night, the Saints are now well positioned in the first few rounds of the draft. They don’t have to feel forced into taking a wide receiver in the first round, as they replaced Cooks’ speed in the offensive lineup with Ted Ginn Jr. That said, they would now become one of the most interesting spots for John Ross, Mr. 4.22 himself.

The Patriots won’t select in this draft until more than midway through the second day, but they have the ability to dominate days three and four. Their first selection comes in the third round, 72nd overall, which they acquired from the Carolina Panthers for defensive end Kony Ealy.

The Patriots’ next selections are at 96 overall, 131 overall, and then 163, 183, 200, and 239.
