Loser: Bears Fans

Chicago came into free agency expecting to sign several blue-chip free agents, and the fans bought into the idea. Losing star wide receiver Alshon Jeffrey to Philadelphia for less money was a major punch to the gut all its’ own.

Not only could the Bears not keep their own guy, but they failed to bring in fresh talent as well.

Cornerback A.J. Bouye was among the stars on Chicago’s shopping list who opted not to sign with the Windy City. Bouye now heads to Jacksonville, who stocked up on free agents once again. Their backup plan at corner Stephon Gilmore also passed up on putting pen to paper, signing with New England.

They then missed on tackle Riley Reiff, who could have been a major upgrade for their offensive line.

To top it all off they gave Mike Glennon a major contract to be their starting quarterback, a move nearly every talent evaluator has scoffed at.

Long story short, the Bears ineptitude caught up to them in free agency and their extended era of losing will carry on for many, many more years.
