Loser – Andy Dalton

Thursday was not a good day for Bengals fans as they watched multiple key players go out the door for good. The biggest hits came at the expense of the offensive line when two of their best players departed.

First to go was the veteran left tackle Andre Whitworth, who spent 11 seasons as a very productive starter. Whitworth has an incredible track record of durability, starting all but two games in the past eight seasons.

Whitworth signed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams reportedly worth $36 million with $15 million guaranteed. His loss leaves former top picks Jake Fisher and Cedric Ogbeuhi to fill his role, although neither currently has the talent Whitworth brought.

The second member of the Bengals offensive line to depart was guard Kevin Zeitler, who departs for the cross-state rival Cleveland Browns. In an ambitious attempt to revamp their offensive line the Browns gave Zeitler a five-year contract worth $60 million with $31.5 million in guarantees.

Now the Bengals are left scrambling to find replacements for two of their best players whose talents will be hard to match.
