Jonnu Smith . 221. player. 57. As stated earlier the tight end position is razor thin for the Bears at this point. Filled with injury-prone guys like Zach Miller and unproven names like Ben Braunecker and Daniel Brown. Given how important the position can be to an offense, there is no shame in adding help at every opportunity. If the homework is done properly there is a chance the team could have multiple options before too long.
Jonnu Smith is another small school prospect out of Florida Atlantic. He won’t win any size competitions but underestimating him would be a mistake. Not only was he a productive and dangerous pass catcher, he also demonstrated a surprising affinity to block. He proved that with some impressive drills during the Senior Bowl. Scoop him up and suddenly the Bears not only have athleticism and receiving options, but they have depth too.
. TE.
