7. Los Angeles Chargers

The San Diego Chargers defense was hot and cold for stretches last season. There were times it looked outstanding and others not so much. They have the makings of a tremendous front seven led by Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, but their secondary took a signficant blow when they lost safety Eric Weddle to free agency. His absence on the back end was noticeable more than a few times during the year. Replacing him has been a goal since.
Jamal Adams may be packed into a shorter frame, but don’t dare call him small time. The LSU safety is a whole lot of violence squeezed into that body. He hits hard, tackles well, plays with tremendous instinct and is almost never out of position. Though he does his best work in the box, teams don’t realize how athletic and rangy he is until it’s too late. He is the most pro-ready defensive back in this class. An instant starter for that defense.
. S. LSU. Jamal Adams . 7. player. 13
