21. Detroit Lions

CB. Washington. Sidney Jones . 21. player. 50. Throughout the entire season it was obvious the Detroit Lions defense was getting by with smoke and mirrors. Quality coaching and schemes made up for a clear lack of talent. They ended up with the 19th ranked pass defense and it showed in their playoff loss to Seattle. They just couldn’t keep up with the weapons the Seahawks continued to throw at them. Outside of Darius Slay, they have no true cover corner to rely on.
That changes with their selection of Sidney Jones. Washington has become a hot bed for talented defensive backs. Ask Marcus Peters. Jones is built much the same way. Good size, fluid, agile and fast enough to play tight man coverage. Top it off with a clean home life and good instincts and this has the trappings of an instant starter. Him and Slay together would make life so much easier for the undermanned Lions defensive front.
