2. San Francisco 49ers

Taco Charlton . 2. player. 42. The San Francisco 49ers may yet take a quarterback at this spot but the odds are growing longer given the other avenues they’re rumored to be exploring. If they decide to go elsewhere, then they need to seriously consider finding a quality pass rusher. Ever since Aldon Smith was sent packing, the team hasn’t had anybody capable of providing that consistent pressure off the edge that makes all good defenses work. John Lynch understands that better than most.
Taco Charlton has been rising up boards for weeks. The Michigan defensive end had a strong final season in college, demonstrating his rapid progress as a rusher. Better still teams are finding out that he has the ideal size, length and athleticism required for a true NFL sack artist. He can played defensive end in a 4-3 or outside linebackers in a 3-4. One of those talents who can transcend a scheme. There is some risk with his raw development, but the upside is worth it.
. DE. Michigan
