Foreman is considered by many as a second round prospect entering the NFL Combine this weekend in Indianapolis

Texas running back D’Onta Foreman will not be among the prospective NFL running backs to participate in drills at the NFL Combine this weekend.

Alex Dunlap reports that Foreman will hold off on showcasing any on-field drills and workouts until his pro day. ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports Foreman suffered a “small stress fracture” in his foot.

Foreman did participate in the bench press and recorded 18 repetitions.

Texas’ pro day is among one of the later player showcases this year currently scheduled for March 28.

Foreman burst onto the scene last season for the Longhorns rushing for over 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns.

In a running back heavy draft class some NFL Draft analysts have placed Foreman as high as the late first round but the consensus is Foreman is a second or third round draft pick.

Measuring in at an even 6′ at 233 lbs Foreman has the body of a power runner who typically plays with more of a flashy style. Pass protection will also be an issue for Foreman, who was not called on doing so a lot playing in the Big 12.

Ultimately I believe Foreman looks to be a high third round draft pick despite opting to not run at the NFL Combine. Should the right team with the right coaches get their hands on him at the NFL level Foreman could develop into a star.
