Three Options for the Detroit Lions in the 2017 NFL Draft
Haason Reddick, Linebacker from Temple
Over the course of the season, injuries plagued the linebackers of the Detroit Lions. Randomly, the Lions traded away Kyle Van Noy to the New England Patriots for a 7th round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Certainly, the former second round pick and BYU standout wasn’t living up to the hype. However, it’s odd that he got traded after the team was so thin at the position.
All this can change with the 6’2 — 237 lbs., product from Temple. Haason Reddick is the perfect fit for a 4-3 WILL linebacker. From the films I’ve studied on Reddick, he displays good coverage skills and displays great athleticism in the open field. Playing the linebacker position, improving his overall strength could do him wonders but he shows great flexibility at the hips and can always provide good initial contact on a tackle.
Drafting a linebacker in the 2017 NFL Draft, will be one of the many needs the Detroit Lions have to fill. With this pick, they find an adequate playmaker to put into their defense and it could deliver from the start.
