2nd Round

The 2017 draft class is overloaded at the cornerback position. This means that prospects who should go in the 1st round will end up going in the 2nd and maybe even the 3rd. That’s how it goes sometimes. Gareon Conley is a good athlete with excellent technical skills. He doesn’t make a lot of mistakes and shows he can stick to receivers down the field. His ball skills will appeal to the Bears who are looking for defenders who can force more turnovers.. CB. Ohio State. Gareon Conley . 36. player. 57

2nd Round (via CAR)

Marcus Williams . 40. player. 57. Some teams will dog him for not being physical enough at times in run support or tackling. Yet Marcus Williams is trumped by few when it comes to playing coverage from the safety position. He just always has an inherent sense of where to be and when to pounce. Grabbing interceptions is what he does best, almost daring quarterbacks to throw it in his direction. As stated before, this is something the Bears have been missing.. S. Utah

2nd Round (via CLE)

TE. Ole Miss. Evan Engram . 52. player. 57. He may be undersized for a tight end, but bet against Evan Engram at your own risk. He’ll never be a great blocker from that position, but it’ll be too loud for him to hear the complaints with every first down and touchdown he’ll produce as a receiver. He’s athletic and fast for that position, drawing comparisons to Pro Bowler Jordan Reed. Get him lined up on a linebacker or a safety and it’s all over but the crying.
