Minnesota Vikings trade WR Percy Harvin to Seattle Seahawks

Fans and columnists who covered the Vikings wasted no time declaring their team was the winner of this trade before the 2013 season was even over. Two of the players they acquired with the three picks (1st, 7th and future 3rd) would become solid contributors in Xavier Rhodes and Jerrick McKinnon. Harvin had hardly played much for most of the 2013 season in Seattle and it was looking like a colossal miscalculation bu the Seahawks. That is until the Super Bowl arrived.

Harvin proved the decisive difference-maker in that 43-8 blowout of the Denver Broncos. Not only did he run the ball twice for 45 yards, it was his kickoff return touchdown to start the second half that crushed the Broncos’ spirits. He emerged at exactly the right time doing exactly what the Seahawks got him for and it resulted in a Lombardi trophy. Not long after that he was traded away to the Jets. Minnesota may have the longer tenured players in the deal, but Seattle got the ring.
