8. Carolina Panthers

8. player. 87. If 2015 and 2016 proved anything when it comes to the Carolina Panthers, they are a team driven by the effectiveness of their ground game. When they had a Pro Bowl rusher, they went 15-1 and reached the Super Bowl. When they didn’t? The playoffs were a fleeting dream. Running the ball is central to what makes both Cam Newton and their defense most effective. Jonathan Stewart looks like he’s about done. Time for a change.
So why wouldn’t the team look to add arguably the most talented running back to come out of college in a decade? Leonard Fournette can do it all. He’s a powerful runner with size who can win in short yardage but still features the athleticism and speed to wiggle through holes and break long runs. Having his threat in the backfield will prove to be a pick-your-poison situation for defenses. Either stop him or stop Newton. Can’t do both.
. RB. LSU. Leonard Fournette
