3. New York Jets (via CHI)

QB. North Carolina. Mitch Trubisky . 3. player. 30. The New York Jets can ill-afford to give up draft picks in order to move up in the 1st round should they wish. However, they do have one significant trade piece in defensive end Sheldon Richardson. He appears on his way out with them, so their opportunity to get something in return is now. The Bears run a 3-4 defense and would no doubt love to put Richardson on a front with Eddie Goldman and Akiem Hicks. In return the Jets gain three vital slots of draft position to select their future quarterback.
There is hardly a consensus regarding who the top QB is in this class, though the running belief is North Carolina standout Mitch Trubisky has the fewest red flags aside from his notable lack of experience. He’s got enough size, good arms strength, accuracy and mobility to make plays with his legs. What stands out the most though is his pocket poise, able to sense and avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield. If Jets fans can be patient, he’ll end up being a good one.
