2. San Francisco 49ers

DE. Stanford. Solomon Thomas . 2. player. 42. A lot of people might be surprised by the fact that San Francisco didn’t take a quarterback here. They shouldn’t be. Kyle Shanahan himself has already stated that the 49ers can’t afford to be focused on getting a QB just yet. Not at the expense of rebuilding one of the worst rosters in the NFL. It has to be about best player available for them because most of their top talent is starting to get older. The pipeline is drying up. That must change.
If the 49ers transition to a 4-3 defense as many predict, then they’ll need a dynamic defensive lineman to help get things going. Solomon Thomas ended his final college season with a dominant performance, showcasing what much of the football world hadn’t known. The Stanford defensive end is a relentless ball of energy who gives offensive linemen no breaks for 60 minutes every week. Strong, quick and deceptively athletic he is a guy who alters games.
