17. Miami Dolphins (via WSH)

Tennessee. Derek Barnett . 17. player. 59. The Miami Dolphins lived and died by their defensive front in 2016. It was a big reason they won a lot of games down the stretch but also failed to step up in the playoffs. A big reason why was simple mathematics. Several of their members are getting along in age. Cameron Wake is 35-years old. Mario Williams is 32. Their edge rush is particularly vulnerable because of this. They must be proactive in order to fix it.
Thankfully the board bounces their way, allowing Tennessee pass rusher Derek Barnett to slip out of the top 15. Some believe he just doesn’t have the measurables to succeed in the NFL, but his 33 sacks in the SEC would seem to indicate otherwise. Barnett is a naturally gifted quarterback hunter, showing good snap anticipation and a solid arsenal of different moves that made him a handful for offensive tackles.
. DE
