5th Round

RB. North Carolina A&T. Tarik Cohen . 130. player. 57. Jordan Howard is in place as the feature back for the Bears. Now they need to find somebody who can compliment his skill set. The moment somebody turns on the tape of Tarik Cohen, visions of Daren Sproles will come to mind. He’s short but also quick, agile, fast and an absolute nightmare once he’s in space. Another of those undersized-but-explosive offensive weapons who can create mismatches by situation.

6th Round (via CLE)

57. Connor Barth is a free agent this coming March, leaving the kicker position in question for the Bears. Not to worry though. This draft class actually has a few excellent options. Zane Gonzalez is the best of the bunch. He’s made more field goals than any kicker in college football history and has steadily improved his accuracy and distance over that time. Also can handle kickoff duties, something Barth wasn’t overly good at. He can start right away and excel.. K. Arizona State. Zane Gonzalez . 159. player

7th Round

QB. Ole Miss. Chad Kelly . 192. player. 57. One of the chief mistakes the Bears have made over the past decade is not investing enough picks at the quarterback position. Just three selections since 2006. It’s little wonder they’re out of answers at this point. So they decide to double down this year. Chad Kelly has serious maturity concerns and injury issues as well, but he might be the most gifted thrower of the football in this class. When he’s focused and on his game, he can rip apart even the best defenses. It’s worth the risk.
