Chicago Bears 2017 Mock Free Agency: The Three-Tier Approach
By Erik Lambert
Bargain Basement
Corey Lemonier (OLB, Cleveland)
Viewed as a talented but raw young defender coming out of college, Lemonier spent his first two years under the guidance of San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio. However, his progress tanked after Fangio left. Since then Lemonier has played for three other teams. Getting back together with his old coordinator will give him stability and the Bears some depth.
Kendall Wright (WR, Tennessee)
Back in 2013, Wright was considered an up-and-coming young wide receiver. He posted his best seasons with 94 catches for 1,079 yards. The offensive coordinator for the Titans that year? None other than Dowell Loggains. When the season ended Loggains was fired. After he left Wright regressed and hasn’t been the same since. A reunion could be beneficial to both parties.

Caleb Sturgis (K, Philadelphia)
Connor Barth will be a free agent this March, leaving the kicker position in flux for the Bears. Odds are they’d like to add somebody who gives them more accuracy from beyond 50 yards. Caleb Sturgis would be just the guy they want. The 28-year old went 35-of-41 overall in 2016, his best season yet, including 4-of-6 from 50+ yards.
