Chicago Bears 2017 Mock Free Agency: The Three-Tier Approach

Duron Harmon (S, New England)
Bill Belichick is a master at finding quality defensive backs and Duron Harmon is one of his more underappreciated. Though he doesn’t get the same exposure as other teammates, his presence is felt constantly as both a leader and playmaker in their secondary. An athletic coverage safety with range and awareness of where the ball is going. Numerous times he’s made big plays in big moments for the Patriots, and he’s exactly what the Bears are missing.
Trey Burton (TE, Philadelphia)
It’s okay if the name seems a little unfamiliar. Burton did virtually nothing for the Eagles through his first two seasons. Even in 2016 he was relatively quiet with 37 catches for 327 yards. Part of the problem was he became stuck on a roster behind proven tight ends like Brent Celek and Zach Ertz. Watch the tape though and it’s clear the young man is a legitimate threat in the passing game with speed and strong hands. He’s a restricted free agent, but Pace has already shown he’ll make a play for such types if they’re worth it.
