NFL Offseason Rumors: What is Jimmy Garoppolo’s Trade Value?
New England is more than likely to trade quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo
Philadelphia will host the 2017 NFL Draft in April, where a cast of quarterback prospects will await to hear their names called by Roger Goodell. Once they are drafted, each player will run up the steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum similar to Rocky Balboa.
Unfortunately for this year’s quarterback class, many could be waiting a while to hear their name be called. With the talent not as high as usual this year, and next years class projected to be extremely strong, teams could hold off on drafting a quarterback.
Cleveland has needed a quarterback for over two decades, and they will not find a consistent franchise quarterback in this class. Instead, they have the ability to acquire Patriots quarterback Jimmy Garoppoo; but at what price?
We asked our followers on Twitter what they would shell out for Garoppolo, and the answer was clear.
Fifty-two percent said a second round pick, exactly what New England spent on Garoppolo, is the fan’s designated value.
If I were the Browns and had two top-12 first round picks, the second pick would be sent to New England in exchange for Garoppolo.
Many draft experts project Cleveland to take a quarterback with one of their two picks in this weak class. Instead of wasting another pick on a rookie, trade the 12th overall pick to New England for a young quarterback who has learned from the greatest of all-time.
No more Doug Pederson, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Manziel quarterbacks in Cleveland. It’s time for Cleveland to pay up and New England to collect. Former front office executive Charlie Casserly, now of the NFL Network, says Garoppolo is better than any quarterback in this years class.

If I’m Sashi Brown in Cleveland, Bill Belichick’s number is on speed dial and I’m offering him the 12th overall pick for Jimmy Garoppolo. You might need some protection considering Garoppolo is in the final year of his rookie deal, but Cleveland has enough cap to give the kid a reasonable extension upon signing.
