2. San Francisco 49ers

John Lynch was one of the captains of the iconic 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense. A likely future Hall of Fame safety. One can imagine he’ll want to build the San Francisco 49ers that same way. With a strong defense. That’s going to take some serious work though. Often the best way to get things off the ground is with a strong defensive line. The 49ers already have Arik Armstead and DeForest Buckner in place. One more addition could set them up for success.
Turns out beating up on one of the top QB prospects in a bowl game tends to get a man noticed. Solomon Thomas was already a rising prospect before that, but now he’s skyrocketing. For good reason too. The Stanford defensive lineman is an unrelenting 280 lbs ball of terror. Blockers have to fight it out with him for 60 minutes every week and often end up losing more than a handful of those bouts. His violent hands and lower body strength make blocking him a chore.
.
