Oakland Raiders impending free agents and top team needs
Top Team Needs
1. Middle Linebacker
The Raiders could look to find an enforcer at middle linebacker in the early rounds of the 2017 NFL Draft. There will be some options in free agency, but this might be a good year to look for someone in the early rounds like Jarrad Davis of Florida.
If the Raiders’ defense can find a stud for the middle linebacker spot, I think the complexion of their defense will change dramatically.

2. Interior Defensive Line
Everyone knows about the two edge rushers the Raiders have in Khalil Mack and Bruce Irvin, but there’s not much else. Someone coming from the interior providing pressure would be nice.
3. Cornerback
David Amerson was a nice surprise free agent pickup, and Sean Smith is still someone they believe in, but the Raiders should look for another cornerback that can perhaps start off in the slot and work toward an eventual starting role somewhere down the line.
4. Running Back
If Latavius Murray leaves in free agency, I think the Raiders could look for an upgrade at running back. Even if Murray stays, there would be nothing wrong with taking advantage of a deep draft class at running back and getting another guy that could be a difference maker.
5. Right Tackle
Austin Howard played 11 games last season and right tackle was generally the only weakness on an otherwise excellent offensive line. The Raiders could look for a potential future starter here in the draft.
