2017 NFL Draft Top 10 Quarterback Rankings: Pre-Senior Bowl
By Erik Lambert
#6: Brad Kaaya (Miami FL)
This might be one of the most polarizing prospects in the class. Experts have tried every way they can to like Brad Kaaya. He’s such a resilient player, having endured some tough transitions between coaches and some controversies in the program. To say nothing of the beatings he’s taken from defenses behind suspect offensive line. That didn’t stop him from having a productive career for the Hurricanes and winning some big ball games.
He’s got a good arm, plays in a pro-style system and shows an advanced feel for playing in the pocket. When he’s protected, he’s torn some opponents to pieces. At the same time there are certain drawbacks that are hard to get past. Kaaya is not mobile at all, is rather skinny for being 6’4″ and can struggle with accuracy when he feels he isn’t protected. These aren’t easy things to work around in the pros, so it will be a challenge.
