The key to always remember is that college accomplishment cannot factor too heavily into NFL accomplishment. A good example is Matt Cassel. He spent his entire college career as a backup but still managed to become a Pro Bowler in the pros. That is why traits matter more than production. Mitch Trubisky, more than any other prospect, has the traits of a franchise quarterback despite his considerable lack of experience.

He’s got the size, mobility and strong arm teams covet. His throwing motion is compact and quick. Best of all he can throw accurate passes from a variety of different arm positions. What people might miss though is his footwork. It’s surprisingly advanced. Trubisky understands how to climb the pocket and escape pressure. His elusiveness is very underrated. Throw in some standout clutch performances and this young man looks like a franchise guy.
