NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Week 16 Brings Massive Trading
Jake Butt tore his ACL in the Wolverines’ bowl game against Florida State, proving the worthlessness of such games and unfortunately, hurting his draft stock in the process. If Butt is able to make a full recovery, this is a worthwhile move for Pittsburgh, even in the second round. He’s a very good all-around TE prospect, though he could stand to improve some as a blocker. This seems like a typical Steelers pick, and the thought of Butt in the offense with Big Ben, Le’Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown is pretty scary…
Yes, the secondary needs help too but the Falcons can’t pass on players who are so obviously of great value at a certain pick. Besides, having two potentially great pass rushers is even better than one. Harold Landry is turning lots of head at Boston College. He’s a quick, fast and explosive rusher who piled up 15 sacks in 2016. He may have to add some weight to fit their scheme, but on that fast turf in the Georgia Dome, he and Beasley could wreak some havoc.
