Florida. Jarrad Davis. 39. player. 13. . LB

San Diego’s defense has quietly put together a nice campaign and may well be on their way to being a dominant unit. Joey Bosa, Melvin Ingram, and Jason Verrett have proven to be foundational pieces that should help the Chargers push into contention. Despite this, adding a linebacker to pair with 2nd year player Denzel Perryman would go a long way in fortifying that side of the ball. Jarrad Davis is an aggressive linebacker with incredible sideline-to-sideline range and acceleration. He knows how to close on the ball and has continued to develop as a blitzer. His skillset should pair well with Perryman.

Gaeron Conley. 40. player. 57. . CB. Ohio State

It’s no secret the Bears defense is far from a finished product. This is a unit still searching for an identity. They have a pass rush brewing and have looked very good when healthy. One key element that is still missing though? A secondary that can make plays. Their cornerback and safety situations just aren’t good enough. The team ranks near the bottom of the league in terms of interceptions and forced fumbles. Investing higher picks on the back-end might help.

Gareon Conley being available in the 2nd round could be a major steal. Some believe he’s destined for the top 32 but the depth of this class made it otherwise. Conley is the prototype of the modern NFL: bigger body, tough, physical, athletic and has enough speed to play consistent man coverage without getting repeatedly burned. He’s also shown good ball skills when given opportunities. He’ll give Vic Fangio plenty more flexibility.
