Finding a blue-chip middle linebacker to replace Derrick Johnson has been on the Chiefs radar for years. With Johnson injuring his achillies, that need becomes even greater for Andy Reid.

While D.J. Alexander and Ramik Wilson were drafted in 2015 to add depth to the front seven, neither is considered a top-tier middle linebacker. With Ohio State’s Raekwon McMillan the Chiefs get a linebacker who knows how to win, can play both the pass and the run, and make consistent tackles in the open field.

We saw him shine in the playoffs for Ohio State, despite the score not going his way. McMillan is a big time linebacker who can help the Chiefs from day one.
