NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Week 16 Brings Massive Trading

Philadelphia doesn’t end up with Ross here — instead, Tampa Bay receives a valuable weapon for Jameis Winston’s future. With great honesty, I didn’t pass on the Ross/Philadelphia marriage because I didn’t think highly of Ross; if you’ve watched the Washington standout for any one of his games in the past year, you’ll quickly understand why he ascended up draft analysts’ boards with great quickness. His style of play is exciting and shouldn’t possess too many traits that fail to translate to the next level.

The Doug Martin news was disappointing to say the least, but hearing about his suspension did nothing to dampen my beliefs that Tampa’s offense is one that become the league’s next high-powered attack. They’re already close, and there’s good reason to believe that Winston is going to grow into one of the NFL’s next best arms leading a legitimate passing game. Don’t sleep on the team’s urgency to make a deep playoff run in the next couple of seasons. With plenty of upside ahead, they’re closer than many realize. The addition of a Ross-like receiver should catapult the offense to the next level.
