Sean Payton being moved has been on the rumor mill for years, and the Saints finally cash in by moving up two picks, and grabbing a couple additional assets.
Despite a very productive season by Drew Brees, the Saints failed to improve on their 7-9 performance from a year ago and just may end up a game below .500 again. The offense through the air was productive, but the lack of a strong running game and inability to convert in the redzone, coupled with the poor play by the defense crippled the Saints from contending in the NFC South. While Michael Thomas erupted to have one of the best rookie seasons in the league, not much else went right in the Big Easy.
Defense will need to be a heavy focus in the upcoming 2017 NFL Draft and when you play the likes of Julio Jones, Mike Evans, and Kelvin Benjamin six times a season, you better have a strong secondary that can help soften their impact in a game. Enter Quincy Wilson. While often overshadowed by fellow Gator Teez Tabor, Wilson possesses a solid NFL frame with great size and press-coverage ability. He was a productive piece in Florida and would go a long way in restoring confidence to the back-end of this defense.
