In this mock draft Cleveland aggressively tried to move the first-overall pick, hoping to gain as many future picks as possible. A deal that would have acquired multiple first round picks fell through, leaving Cleveland with only one realistic option in this draft class. While a quarterback at number one is the ideal situation, no quarterback is worth the pick this year. Either they stick with Cody Kessler this year, or they address the position later on in the draft.

Following a bowl loss to Kansas State, Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett declared for the 2017 NFL Draft. A ferocious attacker, Garrett brings some added pressure for a Browns defense that finished dead last in the sacks. While there will have to be some shifting with Emmanuel Ogbah, Carl Nassib, and Nate Orchard the Browns will happily accept a potential star with the first overall pick.
