Quarterbacks always get pushed up the board but there are certain years where it’s just not a group that will garner the same hype. It looks like the 2017 crop is heading that way. Mitch Trubisky is the darling of the moment but a lot of experts are already voicing concerns. Not so much due to a lack of talent but more a lack of experience and leadership questions. He’s had one good year, and that’s dangerous territory for a taking a player in the top 10. That is why it’s still possible he slips.

There is no question the Bears are in the hunt for a quarterback. Matt Barkley is not a realistic option. Jay Cutler is done and Brian Hoyer had his chance. This team needs a fresh start. Trubisky exhibits many of the qualities GM Ryan Pace favors: accuracy, ball placement, and poise from the pocket. He’s also mobile enough to get first downs on the run and plays good football late in games. The rawness is still there, but properly coaches he has tremendous upside.
. QB. North Carolina.
