Notre Dame. Deshone Kizer . 6. player. 42. Anybody who watched Week 13 saw the San Francisco 49ers quarterback position hit rock bottom. Colin Kaepernick and Blaine Gabbert managed just six net pass yards for the afternoon and were sacked six times. Chip Kelly needs a fresh start at that position in the worst way and needs somebody other than Trent Baalke to make the decisions on personnel. Whether that happens or not, this team really can’t afford to look past finding a QB early. It’s that bad.

So they decide to trade down and collect some picks before making the call. Deshone Kizer saw his stock sag badly over the past couple month at Notre Dame. Nobody doubts his mix of size, mobility, arm strength and intelligence makes him a high 1st round option. His production and erratic play have just made it difficult to evaluate him. The coaching and options around him haven’t helped. Nonetheless his upside is probably greater than any in this class and worth the risk.
. QB
