24. player. 31. The days of LT seem so far away. New York used to be the hub for excellent linebacker play in the NFL. That has not been the case for quite some time. The Giants defense has improved from where it was last year, but the linebackers remain a consistent weak spot for them. Outside of run defense, which they’ve handled well, they’ve offered little in the way of coverage reliability or ability to force turnovers. This unit needs somebody who makes things happen.

Zach Cunningham is no stranger to being that lone fish in the empty sea. He’s done a terrific job despite playing on some questionable Vanderbilt teams. No matter what goes on during games, he always seems to be around the football. He brings energy and instinct to the position, tackles well and can play sideline to sideline. Put him in the aggressive Steve Spagnuolo scheme and that should take his abilities to new levels.
. ILB. Vanderbilt. Zach Cunningham
