2nd Round

The Bears offense lost a significant degree of its explosiveness when tight end Zach Miller went down with a season-ending foot injury. It was proof positive of the fears people had when the season began. The team is too thin at the position. With Miller nursing this latest injury and being in his 30s, it only makes sense for the team to seek out help early in the draft. Thankfully this 2017 class appears rich at the position, meaning they can find starters on Day 2.
This offense is looking for a pass catching tight end. Every team prefers one that can do it all but Chicago needs one that can open up the passing game. Bucky Hodges is the perfect solution. Yes, his blocking is sub-par at times but as a big, athletic target with speed there are few in the country who can compare to him. He’s a basketball-type body who can win 50/50 matchups but also threaten down the seam with his speed.
. TE. Virginia Tech. Bucky Hodges . 2. player. 57
