12. San Diego Chargers

The injuries have really been staggering for the San Diego Chargers and continue to cloud what their draft priorities will be. Quarterback, wide receiver and offensive line certainly sit near the top of the list. Unfortunately this class doesn’t offer a wealth of options at this pick. So the best course of action might be to continue beefing up the defense, perhaps with a playmaking safety. Something they haven’t had since Eric Weddle left.
Jabrill Peppers is arguably the most exciting prospect in the entire draft class. He’s a world class athlete who can do almost anything on the football field. He’s logged time at safety, running back, linebacker, wide receiver and punt returner just to name a few. A creative coaching staff can take advantage of this. Mostly though he’ll fill the safety void and give them serious chops around the line of scrimmage both tackling and blitzing.
. S. Michigan.
