5. New York Jets

player. 30. Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing out his string. Geno Smith is now officially a bust. Bryce Petty doesn’t seem to have the teams’ full confidence and Christian Hackenberg remains a big project. The New York Jets have searched high and low for their answer at quarterback. Thus far without success. This pick represents their best chance yet to solve that problem unless they plan to stick it out with Petty or Hackenberg. Right now the odds are against it.
That is why they take Deshaun Watson. Though he’s not the biggest player on the field and has dealt with some accuracy problems of late, he’s still a proven winner with great athleticism. He understands how, where and when to make plays for his team. When Watson gets hot, he can put up numbers with the best of them. For him it’s about learning to play with more consistency. If the Jets commit to him, that will be their priority.
. QB. Clemson. Deshaun Watson . 5
