6. Baltimore Ravens (via NYJ)

S. Michigan. Jabrill Peppers . 6. player. 26. The Baltimore Ravens have been on a steady decline ever since Ray Lewis and Ed Reed retired. It shouldn’t be a big surprise. Losing that much leadership is hard to get over and takes time to replace. Still, it’s surprising the Baltimore Ravens continue to be so inconsistent this season. They’ve had good games spaced in between some rough ones. Now Joe Flacco is hurt again and the team is left with plenty of question marks. The reality is they still haven’t refilled the talent reservoir.
One thing Ozzie Newsome would love to get back is another Reed type of safety. A freak athlete who can lay major hits down in the box but has the range and ball skills to be a nightmare in coverage. Many believe that is the future awaiting Michigan standout Jabrill Peppers. He has many of the same traits as Reed did, though he’s much more raw in terms of his complete mastery of a position. Peppers is a dynamic talent. He just requires time to settle into whatever position the Ravens want him at.
