22. Kansas City Chiefs

ILB. Ohio State. Raekwon McMillan . 22. player. 124. Defense has remained the driving force for success in Kansas City, with occasional bursts from a well-oiled offensive machine. Like any machine though there will be inevitable breakdowns. Most often from aging parts. One that the Chiefs can’t afford to ignore much longer is inside linebacker Derrick Johnson. He’s still among the best in the league but at 34-years old, how much longer does that last? There isn’t any young buck on the roster ready to step in. It’s dangerous living unless they do something.
Grabbing somebody in the 1st round would be the logical solution. Raekwon McMillan might be the best pure inside linebacker in the 2017 class. Like most Ohio State products under Urban Meyer he’s a good athlete with size. His biggest strength is playing downhill and stopping the run, which is top priority in a 3-4 defense. Coverage-wise he still needs improvement but the speed and ability move well in space are there. Give him a chance to learn under Johnson.
