The defense of the Indianapolis Colts is a mess. A week after giving up over 500 yards to a backup quarterback from Chicago, they surrendered a 4th quarter lead to Brock Osweiler and lost in overtime to Houston. This is not the winning football this team was known for two years ago. Andrew Luck can’t do everything on his own. Until he has a defense he can trust to hold the leads he gives them, none of his efforts will matter. It doesn’t matter where they start repairing the damage.

It’s about acquiring talent at this point, no matter the position. Frankly the Colts have very little. How fortunate they are then that Jabrill Peppers is still on the board. This freak athlete from Michigan is a versatile weapon a defensive coordinator can use. He’s strong and tough enough for safety but also fast enough for cornerback. On top of that he can be electric on punt returns. This is the kind of sparkplug this team needs on that side of the ball in the worst way.
