5. Cincinnati Bengals (via CHI from NYJ)

56. The one thing that has been apparent about the Cincinnati Bengals is they recognize good football players. That much in clear in how well they’ve drafted over the years. Now they’re hoping they might be one or two key pieces away from finally getting over the hump. Often the way they’ve preferred to do it is through defense. In order for their scheme to thrive though it takes a dominant defensive line from the tackles out to the end. So far in 2016 it’s clear they aren’t at that level.
So they decide to move up to get somebody who can change that. People seem to keep forgetting about Jonathan Allen. The Alabama defensive end may not be that flashy athlete teams fawn over but he’s no less unblockable. A year ago he dominated with 12 sacks and 14.5 tackles for loss. This season he has five sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss in seven games. Not to mention a recovered fumble for a touchdown. This kid plays consistently excellent football. He is just what the Bengals want on that line.

. DE. Alabama. Jonathan Allen . 5. player
