Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants, 1:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, CBS

Making an offensive coordinator switch after just five games might seem like an overreaction, but in Marc Trestman and the Ravens case, the writing was on the wall even after the team’s 3-0 start. The Baltimore roster is too talented to be holding back Joe Flacco’s ability to launch the ball downfield with a large group of receiving threats.

Ultimately, Flacco should be tossing the ball 20+ yards at-least six-to-eight times in a given game – Trestman didn’t see that to be the necessity, and was fired because of it. What a crazy business, this National Football League…

At the end of the day with this pick, which is one of the toughest of the week, I’ll lean Ravens due to the offense’s potential breakout game with a Marty Mornhinweg regime ready to prove that Baltimore is a legitimate postseason contender, even with uncertainty on Flacco’s side of the ball.

The Giants are drowning in a sea of uncertainty, especially on offense where they’ve scored less than 20 points in four of their five games this year. They could easily be 0-5 heading into this one, which speaks well to the question marks that linger on both sides of the football.

The defense can play ball, but is the offense up for this test against a league-leading Baltimore defensive unit? With a rather one-dimensional attack, Eli Manning’s group would have to break out in a big way to puzzle and defeat this stout Ravens squad.

Ravens beat Giants on the road in a defense-heavy game, 21-16.
