Joey Bosa may have arrived late to the action but it’s clear already that he was worth the wait. His addition to the San Diego Chargers pass rush was most welcome. However, he can’t play pass coverage at the same time. The secondary has really taken a step back for them. Part of it is injuries and part is simple lackluster play from both the cornerbacks and safeties. They don’t really have any studs on the back end and it continues to kill them at the worst possible times.

So somebody like Jabril Peppers makes a ton of sense. He’s arguably the best athlete in the entire 2017 class. There are few positions he’s proving unable to play. He can line up as a receiver on offense, a returner on special teams and has the prowess for both safety and cornerback on defense. That versatility is something the Chargers just don’t have. His sheer upside means he could end up being even better than Eric Weddle, whom they are certainly missing at this point.
. S. Michigan. Jabril Peppers . 2. player. 13
