Andrew Luck is still great, his team is not
The Indianapolis Colts have no reason to feel good about their victory over the Chicago Bears. It was a game by all rights they should’ve lost. Chicago outgained them on offense and played better on defense for the most part. It was two pieces of good fortune that bailed them out again. That was the Bears’ own bad mistakes (penalties and turnovers) and the singular brilliance of quarterback Andrew Luck. Without him that game would’ve been a blowout.
The offensive line allowed four sacks against a defensive front that had four all season coming into the game. They didn’t run the ball hardly at all. Worse still the defense gave up 397 yards passing to a backup quarterback and over 100 yards rushing to a rookie running back. If that doesn’t sum up how bad this Colts team has become, nothing will. Ryan Grigson has solved few of their problems lately. They should be thankful the division is so terrible.
