Giants dormant running game continues to haunt them

There were plenty of reasons for why the New York Giants lost their third-straight game up in Green Bay to the Packers. The lack of pass rush was one and of course the inability to protect Eli Manning at times. It’s a big reason why this team hasn’t had any sort of consistency since the start of the season. However, much of these struggling can be traced back to the fact that New York has absolutely zero going for them in the running game.

Make no mistake. A total of 43 yards rushing is not going to get it done in the NFL. It’s little wonder the Packers defense was able to tee off on Eli. They had zero respect for the ground game. Part of that may be due to the simple lack of talent. None of the backs they have were that good even before several of them got hurt. The time may be coming for this team to make a serious move at that position. Otherwise they risk wasting the potential of this offense.
