Mason Rudolph (Oklahoma State)

Everything about Mason Rudolph fits the “bigger is better” mantra. At 6’5″ he’s one of the larger quarterbacks in the class and his style of player reflects that same idea. Go big or go home. Rudolph loves to go down the field. Why? Mostly because he can. The guy has a strong arm and throws with some pretty impressive deep ball accuracy. The problem is he doesn’t run an overly complicated offense and tends to lose some of that accuracy when thrower short-to-intermediate passes.

Comparison:  Carson Palmer

The Arizona Cardinals starter is much the same type of quarterback. He’s always looking for the big play down the field. That is a big reason Bruce Arians liked him and traded for him. Palmer is at his best in a vertical offense. Rudolph is the same way. Like Palmer he is best standing tall in the pocket and being able to take shots deep. So a good offensive line and fast wide receivers will be crucial to his future success.
