Chad Kelly (Ole Miss)

The first word that comes to mind with Chad Kelly is “gunslinger” The saying goes that a team lives and dies with these types of quarterbacks. When they’re on, there isn’t a defense on the planet that can stop them. When they’re off, it’s interception city. Kelly has arguably the best arm in the draft. He can rip it with serious authority. He’s also got decent accuracy, enough mobility to create plays as a runner and is plenty tough. The big drawback is he makes a lot of questionable decisions that lead to turnovers.

Comparison:  Derek Carr

Again this is about physical skill set. Chad Kelly has the same body frame, mobility and cannon for a right arm as the Oakland Raiders Pro Bowl star. They can spin that football to anywhere on the field with heat and accuracy when they’re feeling it. The biggest difference is that Carr was much more mature and less mistake-prone coming out of Fresno State. Kelly has maturity question marks and struggles to make consistently good decisions.
