Chicago Bears: 5 Reasons They Lost In Houston
By Erik Lambert
Inexperienced corners
The lack of pass rush really exposed how depleted the Bears secondary is of capable cover corners. Now in fairness Tracy Porter, Jacoby Glenn, Bryce Callahan, and Deiondre Hall did hold the Texans to just 231 yards passing and intercepted a pass. That can be considered a decent showing against a receiving corps that features stud DeAndre Hopkins, a 1st round pick in Will Fuller and another speedy rookie in Braxton Miller.
At the same time people cannot forget the Texans left two touchdowns out there on the field. Fuller had the secondary beat clean on a deep ball but dropped it. Later on Hopkins beat Porter to the end zone but dropped it as well. So it could’ve been a lot worse than it was. Don’t forget Hall is a rookie while Glenn and Callahan are in their second years respectively. Putting that kind of inexperience on the field behind a quiet pass rush? The results shouldn’t have been surprising.
