Untimely miscues

There were a number of key plays in the game that can be directly attributed to why the Bears weren’t able to pull it out. It started during the 1st half. Driving in Texans territory, Chicago had bogged down in 4th and inches. They could attempt a long field goal or try to get the 1st down. John Fox felt his team had the momentum so he elected to go for it. Unfortunately Jay Cutler fumbled the snap from rookie center Cody Whitehair, causing a turnover on downs. Even worse was the fact that he likely would’ve gotten the conversion if the exchange had been clean.

That took critical points off the board. Then early in the 2nd half receiver Kevin White ran the wrong route. Cutler threw it where he was supposed to be and the ball was intercepted. Not long after that they were driving again and needed a 1st down. Cutler threw a perfect pass that hit Alshon Jeffery right in the hands and he dropped it. The offense never got back on track after that play as the Texans took complete control of the game.
